10 excuses to avoid having your photo taken

How many excuses have you found to not be photographed?

  1. I just need to lose a few kgs

  2. I have an outfit I want to wear but I just can’t quite get into it yet

  3. Someone has to take the photo

  4. No one wants to see pictures of me

  5. The kids are way cuter and it’s all about them

  6. I’ll start a new year’s resolution and then think about it

  7. I hate how I look in photos

…And I’m sure there’s plenty more. It wasn’t really necessary to list 10.

I’ve seen them all and even for myself, my personal favourite is, “Oh I like being the other side of the camera.”

But what if I said tomorrow isn’t promised? What if in a blink of an eye the memory of you is only that pair of jeans in the bottom drawer from 1985 that you kept because you wanted to get into them again one day. What if they were the only memory? So I say let’s scrap the excuses to avoid having your photo taken and start thinking about the reasons why you should.

It’s simple really.

The ones that are in your life today, want to remember you for who you are now. Not in two months time after bootcamp. Not after you’ve cut out wine and cheese (who’s going to do that anyway?!). And not after you start that new year’s resolution.

They all love you now. It’s time you did too.
